Card boxes are a cute lil avenue for you to release some creative wedding energy. We should know — we’ve seen tons of the adorable things y’all have come up with. But let’s say you’re more into the idea of a vintage suitcase than creating your very own Card Monster. Enter a guitar case card box!
Now, if you don’t have the time/energy/finances to seek out an elegant, timeless Samsonite, never fear. Do you know anyone who plays the guitar? The violin? A bass perhaps? Any stringed instrument that requires a carrying case? Because those babies might be a little bit easier to borrow on the cheap for the space of, oh, a weekend. An instrument case makes for a fabulous wedding guitar case card box, as Juliette and David have already demonstrated for us.

We have a beautiful leather covered box that’s printed with an old world looking navigational map. It’s the case for a gorgeous mahjong set my husband got me for Christmas a few years back, that we never learned to play. It would make an excellent card box for a vintage wedding, not so much our horror movie theme.
Also, pro-tip: Mahjong in real life is very different than Mahjong on the computer. We learned the hard way!
I used an old guitar case of hubby’s for our card box a few years ago. Thankfully, he had a few to choose from so I was even able to display the one that was lined in bright blue fake fur!
Pro tip: to get rid of the guitar polish smell, place a new, open container of baking soda in the case and close for a couple of days. If that does not do the trick, try the same thing with a small open container of vinegar.
