Our lakeside wedding at a glance:

Our theme was a Lake Tahoe getaway. We invited 50 guests to keep the event small. We wanted the day to feel relaxed and fun overall.

Some of our family and friends had never been to Tahoe so we wanted to make it a memorable experience. I tried to buy local items for decoration, I used the palate of blues and greens and lots of white flowers.

The catering was done by my husband and his coworker. I did all of the planning, with the help of my maid of honor and it came together really well. It was a beautiful day and I couldn’t have asked for anything more.

What was the most important lesson you learned from your lakeside wedding?

Let everyone on the bridal party/friends that are helping decorate know what the plan is the night before so you have more time for yourself on the big day. If you’re doing a lot of DIY projects, take time to make lists and have them printed.
