Pretty vintage wedding accessories: capelets, gloves, headpieces, and more!
I normally focus my Friday posts on alternative wedding shoes, today I think I’m going to spend some time with vintage wedding accessories.
Part of wanting to spend some time with them is just that the pictures are so dang pretty. I love this aesthetic… vintage-y, romantic, lovely. It’s just so dang pretty.
Noir and gothic: black dresses with a dark side
It’s Halloween week at Offbeat Bride and one detail we especially love is an amazing black dress. We love them all year round, but smooshing them into one big post just screams goth Halloween-ness. We’ve rounded up our favorite Offbeat Brides sporting black gowns and some of our favorites to buy if you’re in the market.
Top your noggin with a wilder-style yarmulke
Yarmulkes (or kippahs) are caps worn on the head, typically by those of Jewish faith. For those able to wear something a little more daring, I present these alternative (and sometimes out there) yarmulkes for our offbeat Jewish weddings.
Let’s all admire Kwame’s hand-made wedding outfit
My husband is as unconventional as I am, so I was not at all surprised when he decided to wear a tunic and sarong for our wedding. He picked out the fabrics and beads and gave me a basic idea of what he wanted design-wise, and I went from there. I have to say I was pretty happy with how well it turned out.
