Kim arrived at their ceremony (in a friend’s hanger done up for the day!) by driving down an airstrip in a Cessna plane. All the draping in the hanger was antique parachute silk. Jenny and Liam are major Potterphiles and wanted to inject some Harry Potter magic into their Liverpool, UK wedding. Jenny in particular was super resourceful during planning. She found her gorgeous black gown at a prom dress store and sourced tons of their vendors through Facebook, Etsy, and small businesses. Plus, there was a ton of DIY (with no real magic to help!) including handmade wand favors and loads of house colors and Hogwarts details.

Rescue dogs and donuts! Our wedding had modern and vintage touches but no clear "theme" other than Our Favorite Things. Rescue dogs, donuts, pizza, New Orleans, Chicago, and each other. We wanted our wedding to "feel like us" and it sure did. Our dog is a rescue and I am on the board of a local rescue, so we had lots of references to the dog and organization throughout the day, from the sweatshirts the girls got ready in to our specialty cocktail. We're a modern couple of blended religious backgrounds so we decided our wedding was the perfect event to set the tone for a life of unapologetic joy.
