College Humor recently took on the task of skewering ye olde wedding toast. From your long-winded bestie to your cranky-about-paying dad to your emotional mother of the groom, no typical toastmaster was spared in this parody.
Clearly not all of us will be dealing with these stereotypes at the reception or pre-wedding parties, but certainly we can all use a good chuckle about the dreaded task of making a speech, right?

We’ve definitely seen grooms with swords cutting cakes at weddings (note: do NOT put the sword back in the scabbard with cake on it. You’ll thank yourself later). But we hadn’t noticed quite as many women with swords (though we have seen a couple!).
The team who crafted this inspiration shoot drew upon the myth of the Lady of the Lake from Arthurian legend, but with a twist: the Lady marries Morgan Le Fay!

Brynn and Stephen traveled from Houston, TX to Winter Park, CO to elope on a mountaintop. It was about 15 degrees on the top of the mountain and windy! But it was clear that they were feeling no pain in the frigid temps based on their laughs. They had an intimate ceremony overlooking the mountains after a ride up on the ski lift. After they made it official, they ran inside to warm up and cut some cake. Just wait until you see Brynn’s amazing black gown and Stephen’s cowboy details…
A rustic zodiac inspiration shoot in the foothills of Colorado (with a surprise vintage VW!)
This zodiac inspiration shoot was driven by constellation imagery with purples, gold, and a touch of galactic pink. Geometric and star shapes were used throughout, from the bride’s hairpieces, to the geometric wedding arch, to the table decorations, and geode cake. Don’t miss the bride’s loose bouquet of wildflowers and sage and the surprise gold vintage Volkswagen that happened upon the scene without any planning!
