17 lovely and ultra affordable wedding rings (ALL under $500!)
When it comes to engagement rings and wedding rings in general, you don’t have to spend a bunch of paychecks on something wildly expensive. The diamond industry keeps asking why millennials aren’t buying as many diamonds and it’s clear: diamonds aren’t the only way to go anymore. I’ve found a whole bunch of super affordable wedding rings with colored semi-precious stones, opals, sapphires, Tahitian pearls, and yep, even a few gorgeous diamonds (and black diamonds!). Let’s go shopping for some purty sparklies that are all under (some WELL under) a $500 price tag…
“Will we need a corsage for your grandmother?” Grief and wedding planning
Those who have lost someone — and that is nearly all of us — can tell you that grief, rather than subsiding, simply assumes the traits of water molecules. Over an amount of time, never predictable, it changes shape from a solid pain to a fluid, familiar ache, an ache which leaves room for joy, for the ability to page through love-worn photo albums, for gratitude at ever having known and loved the person at all.
This super chic vintage tropical wedding wins our hearts
Looking at this wedding is like being transported into a 1950s-era South Seas movie set. From dapper-as-hell, perfectly cut suits (floral! metallic! bold colors! our hearts!), kitschy tchotchkes from their home, milk glass planters, vintage ceramic figurines, antique cameo brooches, there is so much to take in.
Anthony and Michael-Birch are two artists (musician and embroiderer), and took a surprisingly practical approach to their stylish wedding. They wanted to keep things simple, focusing on putting on a fun celebration but not breaking the bank or getting carried away with old traditions or extraneous decorations.
Gold crowns, purple hair, and tears galore at this Oregon schoolhouse wedding
HK and Josh planned a small ceremony at one of their favorite places, Historic Soap Creek Schoolhouse followed by a reception at LUC restaurant. Almost every aspect of their day was handmade and crafted by themselves or their community, including vegan treats, decorations, bouquet, boutonniere, cake, table settings, party favors, and floral arrangements. You’re definitely going to want to see the gold crown + purple hair, the tearful first look, the tearful ceremony entrance, and well tears all around all the time.
