Based on reader feedback that it was “hard to find any weddings of people of color,” we started tagging posts that featured a BIPOC bride and/or groom — and/or means you’ll find tons of interracial couples in here! Increasing visibility for BIPOC folks has been a priority for us since 2008, and note that we always allow folks to self-identify. More about how and why we do this here.

An Indian-influenced Texas wedding with a little bit of Pixar

George and Emily created an intimate afternoon wedding in Texas for their friends and family. Emily surprised everyone by wearing a white sari flown in from India to honor George’s heritage. They also had Indian catering, vintage book decor, and the movie Up playing in the background (since that was the inspiration for their proposal!).

A morning wedding ceremony at the DC War Memorial

Natasha and Dwayne exchanged vows at the DC War Memorial on a Sunday morning. Natasha’s mother and Dwayne’s best friend were also in attendance. Following the ceremony, Natasha and Dwayne went to The Jefferson Memorial for some portraits.

Crystal & Denny’s rockabilly red and turquoise wedding

If falling in love is like owning a dog, these two took the leash and ran with it. Their ceremony honored their love for each other and their beloved pets. Their rockabilly sensibilities, with a Hard Rock Cafe backdrop, made for a very musically-inspired event, complete with guestbook guitar and fab playlist. All that, and an amazing red dress — wait til you see what’s under it!

A Vegas elopement with a trip to the Valley of Fire

Anisha and Ace had an intimate ceremony with just the two of them at the Chapel of the Flowers in Las Vegas. They had already celebrated their engagement with their families earlier in the year, so this was their special celebration that they could share together.
