BIPOC

Based on reader feedback that it was “hard to find any weddings of people of color,” we started tagging posts that featured a BIPOC bride and/or groom — and/or means you’ll find tons of interracial couples in here! Increasing visibility for BIPOC folks has been a priority for us since 2008, and note that we always allow folks to self-identify. More about how and why we do this here.

The mirrored corset at this teal and tentacles firey wedding stole our hearts

Liz and Tony’s wedding inspiration came from trips and involvement in the Burning Man community where they met some of their closest friends. Some of our favorite parts were their customized outfits in teal and green with octopus light-up umbrellas, and their reception with fire dancers, fire sculptures, and a ring nest complete with robin’s eggs. Liz’s dress featured loads of tentacles and a corset made from shattered pieces of mirrored glass. You’ll absolutely want to see the whole shebang.

This Nightmare Before Christmas wedding is “simply meant to be”

As a Nightmare Before Christmas fan, I have a huge soft spot for Ashley and David’s wedding. Their Nightmare Before Christmas wedding is perfect for the time between Halloween and Christmas. Ashley looked fantastic, from her batty veil to her hand-painted shoes. David, the wedding party, and even the table and chair covers were spooky and elegant in shades of orange and black. Don’t miss the cupcake tower designed to look like the film’s iconic spiral hill.

These mohawked rockabilly wedding ladies took a DIYed wedding by storm… literally

Stacie and Crystal were married in Oklahoma, but had their public rockabilly wedding ceremony and reception at a friend’s home in Wichita Falls, TX. At the end, it was all toasts and cake and smooching… then tornado sirens from all of the bad weather they’d been having. Hey, it probably means good luck, right? Let’s get a load of this mohawked, fabulously coiffed, and stylish pair.
