This wedding is such a testament to budget weddings and their ability to be completely awesome without lots of bells and whistles. But three things they definitely found room for were their three geek-tastic cakes: Star Wars, Star Trek, and Doctor Who. You’ll also never guess how one of the bride’s brothers found a way to be present without actually being able to attend. Plus, we dare you to find ALL the geeky and bookish references in their epic, communal ceremony reading. So many references!
Joni & Jeremy’s medieval handfasting and archery wedding
Pink hair, custom medieval dress, and goblets of mead? I think we’ve got ourselves an awesome Dutch/English bilingual handfasting! Add in a rad archery session, lots of fantasy and medieval garb, and a fairy tale retelling of the couple’s love story, and you’ll never want to travel back to the present day.
Charlie & Quinten’s barefoot faux-forest indoor picnic wedding
Tons of handmade pillows, hay bales, leaves, and picnic blankets — it must be an outdoor wedding, right? Nope! But it may as well be. Due to some wet weather, these two brought the outdoors in for a green and brown faux-forest wedding. Even the flower girl and ring bearer got in on the theme action. Chalk up some bare feet, some lovely poetry, and a big ol’ party, and you’re ready for forest-y fun indoors.
