Emma & Brian’s geeky rainy love fest wedding
This wedding is such a testament to budget weddings and their ability to be completely awesome without lots of bells and whistles. But three things they definitely found room for were their three geek-tastic cakes: Star Wars, Star Trek, and Doctor Who. You’ll also never guess how one of the bride’s brothers found a way to be present without actually being able to attend. Brooke & Jon’s elegantly 8-bit Mario wedding
These two super gamers embraced Super Mario for a pretty damned super, 8-bit-inspired wedding! We’re talking a Mario photo booth complete with props, fire flower bouquets, homemade cupcakes, and even the bride’s kick-ass 1-Up nails! Plus, you’ll love their card box. Let’s just say it involves a piranha plant and some special effect noises.
When Trekkies Wed: a Star Trek-themed ceremony, vows, and officiant dressed as Q
Seattle-based officiant Elaine Way was contacted by our Trekkie couple of the day (John and Becky) and asked if she would dress in full character for their ceremony. The character they had in mind was none other than Q, aka the bossy enlightened know-it-all from Next Generation. Since Becky and John are full-blown Trekkies, we also have the entire ceremony AND a wedding video!
Science-y, steampunk-y vial place cards
We’re trying to make our reception tables look like the desk of a (mad?) scientist or at least a bit bookish and science-y. So these are our place cards! They’re all itty bitty glass vials with a label and some contents. The label names are geeky references. The contents are mostly things from the pantry. And then we’re gonna put the name cards on top.
