Tassles, corsets, and fans: the burlesque wedding eye candy of your dreams
We’ve always had a penchant for a sexy and retro burlesque show at a wedding. And we usually see awesome examples that are totally share-worthy. I decided to wrap them all up in a bow for MAXIMUM EYE CANDY! Couples performing, amazing costumes, steampunk detailing, corsets galore, and so much talent… this burlesque wedding roundup is for all your lovers of this art form. Let’s look back at some of our faves… (slight NSFW warning for a few mild bums-in-thongs shots).
Craft a quest adventure game for your reception
If you’re a gamer and want your reception to both celebrate games and give your guests rad ways to interact, this quest adventure game is right up your alley. Rebecca and Greg had a game-themed reception at Level 257, a Pac-Man-themed restaurant, arcade, and bowling alley in Illinois. Because they both rock the gamer life, they created their own specialized game rules, chainmaille and dice favors, and quest scrolls. Let’s see how they pulled it off…
Have a reception caricature artist (as favors and entertainment!)
Marissa and Josh’s red rockabilly wedding featured a reception caricature artist sketching their guests. I fell in love with the idea that their guests would come away with a really amusing and customized piece of art after the wedding.
The best part if you’re trying to find the budget for a caricature artist: they can replace favors and even the DJ (if you’re not into dancing).
Balloons gone chic: giant balloon wedding decor for your reception
Okay I know… balloons are for kid’s parties, right? But what if I told you that balloons can totally be adult chic? Just take a peek at these huge 36-inch balloons with gorgeous tassels that you can use as wall decor, a ceremony backdrop, a candy buffet backdrop, or as in the case here, reception chair decor. It’s like channeling childhood AND keeping it super classy.
