This 1930s garden party wedding somehow happened in 2013!?
Ashley and Robert had that idea that they’d plan an authentic 1930s-styled garden party. The nail’s head was hit so hard, the nail died. The affair was held at a 1907 Tudor mansion in Highland Park, CA, with a 1935 Packard sedan to deliver the bride. The groom and groomsmen wore 1930s-era morning attire with top hats, while the bridesmaids were clad in couture organza gowns created by Ashley’s good friend and bridesmaid, Theresa Laquey. The bride’s out-of-this-universe dress is actual 1930s vintage from eBay. To top it all off, the catering was based on actual recipes from a 1930s cookbook. Everything about this makes me want to blow my wig… blink my peepers… be dizzy with these dames… and basically blurt out a lot of 1930s slang.
Courtney & Rhys’ Alaskan steampunk octopus-spattered beach wedding
Whether you call them octopuses or octopodes, you’re gonna love looking for all of them in this steamy beachy wedding. Hint: check out the bride’s hairclip, the handmade papier mache, and the seriously breathtaking mountain backdrop, and that’s before the fabulous goggles and gadgetry the wedding party and guests are sporting. Gear up…
Allison & Sage’s Buddhist gothic gluten-free wedding
With 90 days to plan their wedding, these two pulled off a fusion of Victorian Gothic and Traditional Taiwanese that will blow your mind. Her beyond-gorgeous kimono and his dapper top hat and cane make for fabulous photos, but their thoughtful buffet of eats-for-all-eaters is a real sight to see, even if they did need help figuring out how to cut the cake. PS: the rally music for paper-crane-folding party? Awesome.
A steampunk wedding with an amazingly detailed wedding cake
Jenny from Moondance Photography may have been new to steampunk before photographing this wedding, but she got schooled! Victorian science fiction meets cyber punk is not something to be forgotten once you’ve experienced it. There were gears on the shoes and in the boutinnieres, top hats, vintage decor, and a steampunk cake with more details than you can imagine.
