Hi! I’m quite new to this wedding planning thing, but have lots of ideas. Both me and hubby-to-be are geeks into sci-fi, fantasy, board gaming etc. We are also on a quite a tight budget as he still in med school. And we happen to live in the most expensive city in the world (London, UK) and we are planning on getting married here.

For a long time my husband and I have been talking about wanting to have Cthulhu cake toppers for the wedding (he is really into H.P. Lovecraft and used to run a lot of Lovecraftian role-playing games in university).

So I did my best to make Cthulhu cake toppers, and I thought they turned out okay! Here’s how I made them…

I used emerald, black, and white polymer clay (Fimo soft) for the modelling.

I had nail art tools, cocktail sticks, cutting blades, and lots of patience.

I also realized that if you don’t have rubbing alcohol to wipe the work before baking, you can substitute it with vodka!

I look forward to explaining what they are to my future husband’s conservative relatives.
