BIPOC

Based on reader feedback that it was “hard to find any weddings of people of color,” we started tagging posts that featured a BIPOC bride and/or groom — and/or means you’ll find tons of interracial couples in here! Increasing visibility for BIPOC folks has been a priority for us since 2008, and note that we always allow folks to self-identify. More about how and why we do this here.

A theater-infused movie wedding at an alma mater

Hana & Tim’s family farm fun wedding

This blended family celebrated the union of their love by having a handfasting together and big ol’ “We are family!” cheer at the end. Tack on a lovely multi-colored dress, a rural farm ceremony, and two adorable kids, and you’ve got a sweet farm destination wedding in Maine.

Kiona & Jennifer’s magickal barefoot solstice wedding in the desert

This pair has a strong connection to the desert, so a barefoot desert ceremony was a must. Add in lots of handmade, vegetarian, and eco-friendly touches, and you’ve got a truly gorgeous and personal wedding (that somehow totally avoided the scorching Arizona summer heat). And don’t miss the awesome, impromptu “rad bromance” dance duet!
